Create Messages - Manager

Access this page using Manager>Create Messages.

Use this page to send messages to the employees you manage if you are a manager and have Manager timesheet permissions in the HR Management module.

Note: If you do not see the Manager>Create Messages option in EWS, you do not have Manager timesheet permissions specified for your employee ID in the HR Management module. Only employee IDs that have Manager timesheet permissions specified in the HR Management module can create and send messages to their employees using EWS. For more information about Manager timesheet permissions, see Understanding Permissions.

This page displays only the employees you manage. Employee/manager relations are configured in the HR Management module. For more information about specifying managers for employee IDs, see the HR Management module online help.

You can filter the list of employee names displayed on this page by clicking on the filter icon displayed in each column heading and then clicking on the filter you want to use. When you click on a filter, the filter criteria associated with the filter displays the data that meets the filter you selected and hides data that does not meet the filter criteria. For example, you can filter by location if you want to send a message to all employees that you manage in a specific location, or you can filter by department if you want to send a message to all employees that you manage in a specific department.

You can also group the list of employee names displayed on the Create Messages (Manager) page by dragging a column name above the row that displays column names. When you drag a column name above the row that displays the column names, EWS uses the column name to group the list of employees. For example, if you drag a Location column heading above the row that displays column names, EWS refreshes the page and displays the employee names grouped by location, such as Home Office and Corporate Headquarters. If you drag the Department column heading above the row that displays column names, EWS refreshes the page and displays the employee names group by department, such as Finance, Human Resources, Sales, and Manufacturing. If you drag a Location column heading and then a Department column heading above the row that displays column names, EWS refreshes the page and displays employee names grouped by departments at each location.
